The majority of our business is on week nights, after 6pm, and on weekends, especially weekend nights, so those are the times when we need people to be available to work. Especially in the spring and fall, we have a small need for people who are able to work the day shift, but you must be extremely mature and independent and be able to multi-task. If you go away often with family or friends on vacations and weekends, then this is not the job for you. In fairness to the whole team, we expect all employees to be available to work throughout our season or the time agreed to. However, we do allow employees to work with each other to swap shifts (with manager approval) which works out very well for all employees who need time off. And we are closed from mid-October until early March….perfect for enjoying the holidays, preparing for final exams and getting established in coursework for a New Year before our spring opening.
We are in the food business and therefore, we are OPEN holidays….Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day….and you must be available to work those weekends.
Students that are available to work Spring and Fall (a few days a week beginning now or Past Labor Day) are a bonus. Our season is in full swing by late April, so we hope to have most of our staff on board and trained by then. We have a few summer only employees who can satisfy the above criteria. But, if you do not get out of school until June and go back in August or right after Labor Day that puts you at a disadvantage.
